your biggest goal today is to write down your “why” (you’ll actually have a few of them) and all the answers to the associated questions.

you already know your why, it’s the entire reason you pressed “join”. so why are we writing it down? well, people who write down their goals are 42% more likely to achieve them, statistically. allow me to walk you through your why, and it’s importance. but even moreso, the importance of the process to getting there.

who needs you to make this work? “your why should make you cry” - this is a common thing you’ll hear in direct sales. and it’s not about the crying. it’s about feeling emotionally connected to the reason you need to make this work. we only overcome obstacles + adversity when we feel emotionally compelled to follow through on what we say we want. we usually have a “big why” that’s outcome based, like quit your 9-5, or pay off student loans, or contribute to household income without leaving the home, but you need a “small why” too, like a 90 day why. what do you want to accomplish and why? get specific. do you want to alleviate from financial burden from your spouse? which bills do you want to take over paying? if savings is your goal - what is that exact number that you want in savings? and WHY that number? what exactly is that $ amount going to do for you and your family?

you also have to ask yourself: why is it compelling to you to be someone who sticks with the process over the next 90 days? it’s not about the THING or the GOAL, but about why it’s important to become a person who attains the thing or the goal. because who you are today is not going to be the same person who achieves the goal. you have to become a person who achieves what they set out to achieve. motivation + excitement will only get you so far. they don’t last. you have to learn to find reasons to love the process. why is the process important to you? why is it important that i become a person who sticks with the process?

in the near future, within the next few months, your “big why” will feel so far away that you’ll start to have decreased desire for that outcome over time and start to disassociate with it, even if you’re on the right track. that $1,000 paycheck you get will start to feel insignificant in light of the $50k salary you’re trying to replace. how many times have you dropped something + stopped being consistent because you decided the end goal wasn’t actually worth the process to get there? you start telling yourself “i don’t NEED that”, “i don’t NEED to pay off my credit cards”, “i don’t NEED to quit my job”, “i’m fine with the way my life is now”. and we start to be okay with delaying our intended big why, and start negotiating with ourselves because we haven’t learned to love the process of getting there. you have to become deeply committed to the process, because entrepreneurship is a guaranteed rollercoaster. the outcome then becomes a byproduct of someone who learns to enjoy and is deeply committed to the process.

you’re going to get deep with this and really get to the root of why you’re here + why it matters to become a process-oriented person. if you struggle, try using THIS RESOURCE to help you dig

spend some time comparing you now, to future you. maybe you now is constantly seeking validation, people pleasing, asking permission, complaining, following trends, plays small, makes excuses. get really honest with yourself, without shame or judgement, about where you are now and the behaviors / attitudes that are going to hold you back. maybe future you is a trend setter, plays for the win, has zero excuses, requires no outside validation - only within herself, is a positive light, and is setting the pace

focus on what needs to change, what you need to let go of, what future you looks like and how she behaves, what’s important to her? how does she show up in the world? what are her conversations like? what is her business like? what kind of leader is she? what will it take for you to step into that person?

a lot of times we think “when i make the money, then i can be that person”, but we actually have to take on the future version of ourselves before we can see the byproduct of that come to fruition. the only way we arrive is by taking on that identity. we can’t say “oh i’m going to be this version of me UNTIL i make the money”, we have zero reason to change then. but don’t worry, you’ll never get to your intended goal as a complainer, or playing small, or making excuses, or people pleasing. you will be forced to change and move onward and upward, or you’ll stay the same and stay stagnant. this business really is a personal development business with a compensation plan attached. your business success requires you to change.
